Where river meets the sea

She often revels in the wind, in a place many don’t go,
Where rainbows greet the ocean, and peace is all you know.
Here water gleams like diamonds, and charms eternal bliss.
Indeed a piece of heaven, and treasured happiness.
All fishes glide together, so communal they all are,
She is their guardian angel — their bright and shining star.
Land that bounds this ocean, complements the scene,
Seawater is royal blue, and mountains, emerald green.
Emerging from within the land, is a pristine river,
With water fit for drinking, but sure to make you shiver.
Fishes there are different from their cousins in the sea,
Yet they all love each another, it’s one happy family.
But there was a very rueful age, filled with hate and war
When differences among fishes caused murder rates to soar.
Where river meets the sea, was a sight to make you moan.
The scene of racial blood baths - a condemned fearful zone.
Then She was sent to intervene - LOVE, is her name.
She banished hate of differences, and earned immortal fame.
So we Trinis should take a cue, from Love, who is She.
And live just like fishes do, where river meets the sea.
