Joe Public corner the Crabs 6-0

JOE PUBLIC hammered L-Sporto Crab Connection 6-0 to continue their unbeaten run in the National Super League. The “Eastern Lions” had the ball in the net in the opening minute of Friday night’s match at the Marvin Lee Stadium,Dr Joao Havelange Centre of Excellence, Macoya, Tunapuna. Brian Wallace notched the first of a double, and then Roen Nelson made it 2-0 with his strike in the third minute with the first of his hat-trick. Wallace extended the lead after eight minutes before Nelson fired in goals in the 12th and 81st.  Kevaughn Connell wrapped up the scoring in the 83rd. Superstar Rangers coutinued their climb up the standings with a 4-2 triumph over Carib FC at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima.

Akudu Goodridge opened the scoring in the 16th, but Darwin Pierre put the “Brewery Boys” level in the 20th. Jellineau Gill sent Carib FC ahead in the 31st, but Jason Eastman (53rd) levelled, before Mario Assoon gave Rangers the go-ahead goal in the 70th and Todd Ryan netted in the 87th for the final scoreline. Club Sando got their first victory in their eighth attempt, whipping Moruga 4-1 at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella. Kevin Ollivierre scored in the eighth minute, then Darren Carter got a double in the 34th and 60th minutes before Ronnie Forbes hit the fourth in the 63rd.  Damon Hamilton got a consolation for Moruga in the 80th. Maraval Youth Academy slammed Medianet East San Juan United 6-2 at Trinity College ground, Maraval. Seon Jack scored in the fifth minute, and this opened the flood gates for the Maraval lads who got further goals from Ronald O’Brian in the 10th, Dustin Felician 17th and 51st, Eddison Gift (59th) and Stephon Grey (68th).  Mervyn Williams in the 79th and Wendell Isaac (86th) got goals for the San Juan men. WASA Clean and White whipped Harvard 3-1 to keep up their challenge to the leaders, recovering from a goal down to Christon Freitas in the fifth minute.

Kien Hernandez got the equaliser with the first of his double in the 42nd. And after ex-Strike Squad midfielder Marvin Faustin scored in the 57th to give WASA the lead, Hernandez struck again in the 88th. Dennis Bruice’s 77th minute goal gave Angostura 1976 FC Phoenix full points over Police at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet, Tobago. And Biwater Stokelyvale and Caroni FC played out a 2-2 draw in the second match of the double-header programme in the sister-island. Devon Leacock put Stokelyvale ahead in the 14th minute but Randy Weston grabbed an equaliser in the 31st, and Ahmead Mohammed netted in the 34th to give the “Sugar Boys” the lead. But prolific Curtis Job got Stokelyvale back on level terms in the 38th, and neither team could break the deadlock.
