East youth football kicks off
ACTION in this year’s Emerald Plaza and Apartments-sponsored Eastern Football Association youth series will kick off today. The 2004 series will be contested in five age-groups — Under-12; Under-14; Under-16; Under-18 and Under-20. Football starlets in the Under-12 age-group will start things off with three matches, with National Flour Mills taking on Joe Public at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Dr Joao Havelange Centre of Excellence. Other matches are: Barataria Ball Players vs Maloney D’Abadie Youth Academy, at Barataria; and Creek SCC vs Cruz International, at Constantine Park, Tunapuna. Kick off is 9 am. Meanwhile, TSTT and BM Spurs shared points in a re-scheduled senior league match following a 2-2 draw on Wednesday.
Nigel Reyes and Dane Mapp got gols for the telecommunications men, while Hayden Britto and Monty Carmona scored for Spurs. Under-16 Division fixtures: NFM vs Arima Ball Masters, at Mausica; Arima United vs Joe Public, at Squadron Ground; Barataria Ball Players vs Maloney D’Abadie Youth Academy, at Barataria.
