Republic Cup kicks off today at HC Stadium

YOUNG, aspiring footballers will showcase their skills today as the annual Republic Cup Youth Football Tournament begins at 9 am at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo. There will be matches in all four categories — Boys 13-and-Under, 14-15, 16-17 and Girls 17  and-Under while four Special Olympic teams will also be taking part in the event, which is part of Republic Bank’s “Power to Make a Difference” programme. Each team will have a maximum of seven players on the field of play during the 20-minute matches and an overall limit of 12 per team. And any amount of substitutions can be made by either team during their respective matches.
