TT Cricket Board duped

THE EDITOR: It is so blatantly obvious that Trinidad and Tobago had no intention of bidding for any of the top packages of World Cup 2007. There was no consultation with our already ineffective Cricket Board who obviously was duped into believing that our already ineffective and unaccountable leaders would seek our interest in this regard. But it is obvious that at a recent Heads of Carib-bean Governments that our Government parlayed our non-bidding (we pretended to get a bid in, after the deadline) for the headquarters of the Free Trade of the Americas and Caribbean Court of Justice.

In other words, even though you have the finest cricket ground in the West Indies it doesn’t matter in the dirty game of politics — we will give you the dregs by putting you in the same class as St Kitts who has never even hosted an international cricket match. and never mind that you are way more advanced than Guyana — you get your headquarters but Guyana gets one of the top packages in spite of their lack of just about everything, including their weather! Shades of a creeping dictatorship in Trinidad and Tobago?
