NAR writes minister on kidnaps
THE National Alliance for Reconstruction (NAR) has written to Local Government Minister Reginald Dumas about how his Ministry could cooperate with the police to curb the rate of kidnappings in Trinidad and Tobago. In a letter to Dumas, NAR political leader Lennox Sankersingh said Trinidad was a relatively small island and “it is inconceivable that so many kidnapped victims can be kept hidden for so long without being detected.”
He suggested that a network be devised between the councillors in all of Trinidad’s 126 electoral districts and the police in order to rescue the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice. Sankersingh first advanced this suggestion at an NAR national council meeting in Port-of-Spain last month.
