Lawson: I am ready to go
ARUNDEL: Jermaine Lawson bowled well in the West Indies practice Match vs the Marleyborne Cricket Club at Arundel Castle, his figures were 12 overs, two maidens, 38 runs and two wickets. At the close of play, in an exclusive with windiescricket.com, he shared positive thoughts on his performance and explained the way he is tackling making a return to the longer version of the game.
LAWSON: “I felt ok running in. It seems as though I am getting back my form now. I just went out there, felt good and tried to get the ball in the right areas. In the longer version of the game you tend to relax more, get more time to do what you want to do with the ball whereas in a one-day you are under more pressure. “I’m getting back my pace. Since three days ago in the nets I have been trying to push it some more and I really felt good running in and bowling today. I think I probably touched the 90s (mph) today but I’m not too sure.
“I found the conditions ok, once you get the ball in the right areas it will do the rest. The most important thing is to get it in the right areas. In my first spell I was trying too much to keep it tight rather than relax and do what I normally do and that is what I came back and did in my second spell. “It’s been a long time since I played a three day game and bowled so well, so coming back and getting two wickets was good so I am just looking forward to greater things. I’m feeling very much confident going into the Test series.”
