Tantie cries for help

THE EDITOR: Kindly allow me space to express my opinion about the way the Cunupia Police Station responds to members of the public. I had reason to call this station four times in one week to lodge a complaint against a group of males terrorising and stealing as well as intimidating and pelting an old woman in her late 70s. Tantie, as she is known, is alone and has no one to assist her. She lives on her monthly support and by the grace of God. This old woman lives at Ragoo Trace off Munroe Road, Cunupia IP50.

Mr Editor, there are people who terrorise Tantie and even steal fruits on her own land and all she can do is sit and cry. It is an offence to steal on someone’s land, or pick produce or fruit without permission. I have even brought this subject to Mayor of Chaguanas, Suruj Rambachan, and I am still waiting for the police to come and arrest these boldfaced hooligans who steal from Tantie. Then I hope she would get justice as she is old and not in good health and even her mental condition is not in a good state. Mr Editor, we will all get old someday and would not like to be cursed, pelted, stolen from and even harrassed and be denied justice. I am appealing to anyone in authority to kindly assist. There is only so much I can do. Thank you Mr Editor for publishing this letter in your newspaper. Newsday would get some blessings for highlighting this issue.
