Arima’s Telemaque ‘Most Inspirational’

ARIMA Senior Comprehensive skipper Antonio Telemaque was highly  praised for leading his team to the PowerGen Secondary School East Zone cricket title. Telemaque was named the “Most Inspirational Player” after his great efforts in ensuring his school won the title for the first time in 11 years. The fast bowling all-rounder guided his team to the East title but was unable to take them into the championship rung next year, despite a grand effort against St Anthony’s in the play-offs.

St Anthony’s totalled 134 at the Arima enclosure ground, with Telemaque taking five wickets for 34 runs. But Arima were bundled out for a meagre 55, so next season St Anthony’s will play in the Championship Division. Other young cricketers who played their part in lifting Arima during the recent season were Kerwyn Bhodoo who was named the “Most Outstanding Player” and Mike Herrera who got the “Most Improved Player” award.
