Edwards operation a success

LONDON: Wrexham winger Carlos Edwards’ knee operation was a success and he should be back in action in six months, according to agent Mike Berry. The 25-year-old required surgery after damaging knee ligaments in a World Cup qualifier for Trinidad and Tobago in the Dominican Republic earlier this summer. Edwards has been an outstanding performer for Wrexham since moving to the Racecourse four years ago and was a transfer target for Championship outfit Preston earlier this year. Berry said: “The operation was routine and it was a success. The surgeon was pleased to report that with good rehabilitation he will be back in six months and said it was a similar injury to the one Ruud van Nistelrooy had.”
