Accident victim buried in full wedding regalia

SHE DID not wear a wedding dress or a fancy wedding ring three years ago when she tied the knot with her childhood sweetheart, but yesterday for her funeral Sunita Camille Bobb was attired in full wedding regalia. Bobb was the picture of elegance as she lay in her casket adorned with roses and petals for her farewell service at her home at Sandstone Crown Trace, Williamsville. She and her husband, John, were married in a simple civil ceremony and had been planning to walk up the aisle in a church and renew their vows sometime in the future. Yesterday John sat next to the coffin holding on tightly to his two-year-old daughter, Jessica, during the funeral service with the couple’s two boys, Criston, nine, and Jonathan, five, sitting beside him. Criston was seen closing his eyes and saying a prayer. His younger brother gazed at a beautifully dressed Bobb, and asked, “Daddy, is today mummy’s birthday?” Bobb would have turned 29 on Friday.

But fate would not have it, as she was killed in a car accident on Wednesday night while walking home from work along Poonah Main Road. She was less than a quarter mile away from her home, when a 32-year-old female villager driving along the road struck her. Bobb died from massive head injuries. Yesterday, in delivering the eulogy, Camille’s aunt, Sherry Bhagwat, said Bobb left one last message to the family in her death. Through tears, Bhagwat told the gathering: “As painful as it might be, we have to forgive and forget. She was always a forgiving person.” Camille’s mother, Chandra, was inconsolable as she sobbed throughout the service. “Everytime I pass by that corner I will remember you girl,” Chandra cried.
