EMA must say something

While I support that the road is needed, I am concerned the drains may cause some destruction to the swamp due to salt water intrusion and excessive draining during the drier parts of the year. Should such an event happen, this would affect the endangered manatees which depend on this habitat for their survival. I did not hear that an environmental impact assessment was done or is being done to provide some safeguards while this work is taking place in an environmentally sensitive area and would like to hear from the Environmental Management Authority what is the situation. This area is rich in biological diversity and we must balance development with preservation.
