Abortion: Weapon of mass destruction
THE EDITOR: You printed a barrage of letters from advocates for abortion on demand in your July 13 edition, all of which ignored the fact that abortion kills a human being at an early stage of his or her growth. These advocates consistently claim that their opponents lack empathy for women, while conveniently ignoring the slaughter of many women-to-be by abortion. In China, Tibet and India, where abortion is even forcibly applied, there is a growing shortage of women (with ultrasound, they often choose to keep the boy and abort the girl). The legal abortion advocates continue to say they want dialogue which, to succeed, requires compromise on both sides. This is deceptive, as they know that pro-life advocates can never compromise by agreeing to let some abortions occur. That’s like saying it’s okay to let some murders occur. After all, murders still occur even though murder is against the law.
To deliberately kill an innocent human being is called murder, which is a crime in any nations’ law books. Any logical thinker understands that you don’t legalise a crime just because people still commit the crime. The concern of advocates for abortion on demand for poor women is, regrettably, a smokescreen. The real desire is to reduce the number of children the poor have. If there was genuine concern for the poor, the abortion lobbyists would have started programmes to help them in their crisis, not encourage them to go through the dangers of abortion, which, in countries where abortion is legal (and claimed to be “safe”), include death, uterine perforation, cervical lacerations, placenta previa, ectopic pregnancies, pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis and post-abortion syndrome, and increased risk of breast cancer, cervical, ovarian, and liver cancer.
Abortions put women at risk for the purpose of population control and the money to be made, at the expense of their health and, on occasion, life. (In 1998, one woman died from an abortion, in 1999, three died). Those who proclaim their concern for women seem to want to have abortion at any cost to the woman. It’s ironic. When a male contraceptive pill was first tested it caused a slight shrinkage in the testes of one man and they immediately stopped all development. You can’t get a male pill. However when they tested the female contraceptive pill, three women died. We have versions of that pill with us over 50 years later and the fine print in the warnings read like a weapon, because that’s what they are — chemical weapons of mass destruction!
