Tile It Central Sports praise Cush
GUYANESE all-rounder Lennox Cush was voted one of the top five cricketers by the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) at their 48th annual prize distribution ceremony. The tall right hander playing for Tile It Central Sports stood out during the recently concluded season scoring 514 runs at an average of 57.11. His highest score was a hard hit 122 against defending champions Merryboys at the Diego Martin Recreation ground.
In 10 trips to the crease Cush scored one century and four half centuries. He also chipped in with important wickets with his slow bowling. But despite his impressive figures, his value to the club went way beyond the boundary, according to club manager Vonney Roberts. Roberts speaking said: “We at the club are very impressed indeed with Lennox. He has been an inspiration to the youths at Central Sports and we cannot thank him enough for the contributions he has made to our club. “Lennox went beyond the call of duty and assisted the youths with a number of one on one training sessions.
He personally took under his wings the talented duo of Deon Bennett and Ancil Bhaggan. “And Bennett proved to be a success during the season and Bhaggan is currently with the Trinidad and Tobago Under-19 team in Jamaica.” Roberts said Cush played an integral role in the club’s U-21 side reaching the finals of the Noel Guillen series at the Queen’s Park Oval against Wanderers. Cush now back in his native Guyana will return to Trinidad later this year to begin preparations for the new season.
