Diego football kick-off

The third annual Diego Martin Superleague Football series will kick off today at 4pm at the Diego Martin Recreation Ground. Ushering in the season will be steelband music as well as an exhibition match. Official of the league, Patrick Rampersad said that the tournament which has grown in stature over the past two seasons will have a total of 24 teams this time around. There will be 11 teams in the Open category, six in the Over-40 and seven in the Under-18 tournament. Today the series gets going with an exhibition match between Oriental’s the North Zone FA champs and East San Juan who is currently campaigning in the National Superleague.
