Gonzales woman shot

A Gonzales woman is now in a critical condition at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital after being shot several times about the body by a former lover. According to reports Penny Samuel, 24, of Augustine Lane in Gonzales, was walking along Hermitage Road, Belmont with a one-year-old child around 5.15 pm on Sunday, when a man whom she knew walked up and fired several shots, hitting her in the back, abdomen and other parts of her body. The bleeding woman was rushed to the PoSGH where an emergency operation was performed. She was later warded in critical condition. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 26-year-old man. Cpl Harford of the Belmont Police Station is investigating.
