Miss Lover Lover ready for action

MISS LOVER LOVER has shown she is rounding back to her best and if she performs as she went through her paces on the gallops course yesterday, would be a major factor in tomorrow’s Allowance feature on the Arima Race Club Day 24 programme at Santa Rosa Park, Arima. The Edmund De Freitas-trained mare having being raced consistently over the past 12 months, seemed to have enjoyed her short vacation and showed her brilliant speed over the 600 metres course in 34.17 seconds. The four-year-old with raceday rider Gary Laban aboard was never pressed at any time during the breeze, leaving trainer De Freitas, who observed the performance from “clockers corner” in the Grand Stand to exclaim in almost disbelief: “She could not have done it so fast.”

Ghost Meadow one of trainer Rohit Dube’s three runners will also be eyeing the Allowance purse and also flashed some speed over the same trip. The roan grey filly which was among the money in both sprint events she contested before attempting a distance of ground,  zipped between the same markers in 35.52 seconds. Flying Eagle has been coming on gradually with racing. This lightly raced three-year-old attached to trainer John Gonzales’ small string, clocked 36.87 seconds for the 600 metres trip to also get among the “good” in the Arima Race Club official clockers report. Also to show up well on the morning were Ballybunion, Explosive Suzie, Premier Attraction, Politics, Mucho Tempo and Pattie’s No Angel.
