Local doctors: PM in good health
LOCAL doctors have agreed with the opinion of their Cuban counterparts — Prime Minister Patrick Manning is in fine health after having a pacemaker implant done in Cuba on August 20. The Prime Minister visited the Port-of-Spain General Hospital’s Casualty Department at 5 pm yesterday “to remove the sutures in his chest when the pacemaker was inserted in Cuba.”
According to a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister at Whitehall, local doctors have found Manning’s medical condition to be “quite satisfactory” and said this is the final process in his recovery. The Prime Minister, who returned home on Sunday, also underwent eye surgery while he was in Cuba and will return there towards the end of October or early November for a further evaluation.
