Colfire Indoor Hockey flicks off

DEFENDING Men’s Open Division champs Queen’s Park will face off against Malvern in the feature match today as the 31st annual Colfire Invitational Indoor Hockey Tournament flicks off at the Chinese Association Indoor Centre, St Ann’s. The tournament will get going at 6 pm following the opening ceremony one hour earlier. In another men’s clash today, Paragon will oppose Chinese while, in the lone women encounter, Carib Magnolia, the 2003 champs, will meet Ventures.

Also on today’s agenda, reigning Men’s Over-35 winners Fatima will square off against Notre Dame, Men’s Under-21 title holders Paragon battles Notre Dame and, in another U-21 fixture, Chinese play Fatima ‘B’. While the invitational tournament will run until September 24, the main sponsor of the event Colfire will also be putting a financial input in the Chinese Association’s 7th annual Age Group Invitational Indoor competition. The contest is open for all schools with matches scheduled for the weekends of September 11-12 and 18-19 from 9 am to 6 pm.
