Superstar Rangers register 11th victory

SUPERSTAR RANGERS whipped Angostura 1976 FC Phoenix 3-1 while Police and Biwater Stokelyvale battled to a 1-1 draw in a National Super League double-header at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima on Saturday. A handful of supporters turned out at the venue to see Rangers earn their 11th win of the season while Police maintained third spot in the 14-team standings.

Ex-national defender Colin Roberts put Rangers in front after 14 minutes of play before Curtis Trim equalised for the Tobagonians in the 41st.
Todd Ryan restored Rangers’ lead in the 61st while Shem McFarlane secured the victory when he scored two minutes later. In an action-packed encounter, Floyd Black put Stokelyvale ahead on the stroke of half-time before former Trinidad and Tobago striker Dexter Cyrus levelled the scores for the lawmen in the 74th. Rangers will return to the Arima facility at 4 pm today to square off against Moruga in today’s lone encounter.
