Nine in re-framed ARC race

A TOTAL of nine horses were entered for the re-framed fifth race on tomorrow’s Arima Race Club Day 26 nine-race programme. The event previously to be run over 1750 metres for West Indies-bred three-year-olds maidens, will now be a 1100 metres event and will be the third race of the day with a total purse of $22,000. And when entries closed for the Optional Claiming race for three-year-olds and over, originally race three, there were 12 entrants for this event to be run on the turf course over 1100 metres.

Seven two-year-old “babes” have taken entry to the race for this category over 1000 metres worth $22,000. Of the seven, five comes from the Maniram “Boboy” Maharaj stables - Duchess Laura Lee, Run Mannie Run, Luann’s Passion, My Boy Babes and Lauralee In Flight. The two other runners are Embraceable from the Glenn Mendez barn and Chavez the charge of Douglas Bennett.
