Diego residents slam TTEC

Residents of the Diego Martin areas of Patna, River Estate, Blue Range and Diamond Vale are expressing serious concern over the constant weekly power outages. According to some residents, the problem began around the same time the second phase of the Diego Martin highway expansion project got underway. The residents are not sure whether the two are linked, but they claim that since the project started, they have been having power outages almost every week.

Also when the first phase of the project was being conducted, similar power outages were experienced. In one specific incident, on Monday night, there was a power outage, but when the electricity returned, it kept coming and going, causing power surges. The residents have made reports to the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (TTEC), but there have been no improvements to the situation. Efforts to contact TTEC proved futile, as TTEC representatives said the only person authorised to make comments to the media was Denis McComie, who was unavailable.
