Parliament yes – but getting there!

THE EDITOR: Parliament was opened last Friday, and as happened last year as well, the solid traffic blockage in the city, prevented many from arriving on time. The crawl started at the Beetham for me, taking 35 minutes to reach the Red House while the President was speaking. Those who regulate traffic should explain to invited guests how to access the Red House through the ring of traffic, which surrounds the Red House precincts.

Alternatively, guests should be advised to start walking from Broadway or Richmond Street. A cynic might even suggest that Mr Manning and Mr Saith hatched the traffic problem as another lame reason for moving Parlia-ment. But don’t come with that! Everyday, Parlia-ment or no Parliament, the traffic is crawling on almost every street – except for those with police escorts and flashing lights.
