Jabloteh start FCB Cup defence
DOUBLEHEADERS will be held at both the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella and the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima, as this year’s First Citizens Bank (FCB) Cup gets underway from 5 pm today. Down South, Starworld Strikers will meet Arima Morvant/Fire followed by the clash between W Connection and South West Drillers while, in Arima, last season’s league and FCB Cup winners CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh will oppose Defence Force and North East Stars face off against Tobago United.
As part of the sponsorship deal, employees of FCB and holders of an FCB card will receive free entrance into either venue today. Chief Executive Officer of the T&T Pro League, Dexter Skeene, noted that the move is another way that the Pro League, as well as its sponsors, show its commitment to community development through football. According to the former national football team striker: “The Pro League is committed to playing its part in the development of football in Trinidad and Tobago and we, therefore, continue to create new initiatives to reach out to the communities and attract spectator interest to football once again.”
