Spurs, Young Hearts battle for L/Cup
STRUGGLING teams Shoe Locker Young Hearts and BM Spurs will meet at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Dr Joao Havelange Centre of Excellence, Macoya, Tunapuna, tomorrow with the Emerald Apartments and Plaza-sponsored Eastern Football Association League Cup on the line. The action begins at 3 pm, and will be part of the celebration of FIFA Fair Play Day. Both teams are eighth and ninth on the league standings, but have kicked their way into the final by knocking off higher positioned opponents in the preliminary rounds. Young Hearts squeaked past bottom-of-the-table Joe Public 3-2 on penalty kicks after the teams played out a 1-1 quarter-final draw, while Spurs dumped fourth placed East/West Coaching School 4-0. In semi-final action, the Spurs ripped Malta Carib Alcons 7-3 on aggregate, while Young Hearts disposed of Athletico Sports Institute 3-2 on penalties after they were locked 2-2 on aggregate.
