Cocorite fence a disaster
THE EDITOR: The wire mesh fence built on the Western Main Road at the Cocorite area to prevent pedestrians from crossing the highway is a total wreck and disaster. From the very start surely it must have been obvious that flimsy mesh with narrow 2 1/2” iron poles was not going to stop determined angry citizens from breaking down the divider in order to avoid the short walk, to the overhead walkway in the centre of the area.
The mesh is crumpled and an eyesore; besides several of the poles are dangling dangerously close to the roadway creating a serious hazard to oncoming traffic. The entire fence should be immediately removed and the powers that be must quickly devise a more constructive, permanent and intelligent way to solve the problem.
