St Augustine look to keep unbeaten run
THE “Green Machine” St Augustine will be looking to keep their unbeaten run in the East Zone of the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) going today when they host debutants Valencia at St Augustine. Matches in Trinidad will continue today from 4 pm. St Augustine have tallied 10 points from four matches and will be going all out for victory against the winless Valencia. Traditional rivals “Dial Dynamos” Arima and “Blue Thunder” El Dorado will face off at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima; Hillview will meet Barataria at the Marvin Lee Stadium while St George’s will host San Juan.
In the North, leaders Mucurapo will face off against Malick at the St Anthony’s Ground in Westmoorings; the ‘Tigers’ St Anthony’s will head to Serpentine Road, St Clair to meet St Mary’s; Fatima will host Morvant/Laventille and QRC will square off against Tranquillity at the QRC Ground. Vessigny can maintain their spot atop the South Zone with victory against Pleasantville at the Mahaica Oval while any slip-up can open up the way for Naparima who, one-point behind Vessigny, will square off against Fyzabad in Fyzabad. Moruga and Mayaro, also in the reckoning for the top position, will clash at Moruga while Princes Town will host St Benedict’s. Presentation Chaguanas will be going for their second straight victory when they host Union Claxton Bay; Chaguanas will be looking for another triumph at home to Tabaquite while Carapichaima will be eyeing another three points against Marabella Junior at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva.
