11-year-old held for house breaking

TWO Maracas youths, aged 11 and 14, will appear before a Port-of-Spain magistrate tomorrow charged with house breaking and larceny. According to reports, around 7 pm on September 23, officers of the Maracas bay police station were on patrol in Damien Village, Maracas when they observed the two boys walking with the bags slung across their shoulders and acting suspiciously. They were stopped and the bags searched. The officers found a number of household items in the bags. They were taken to the Santa Cruz police station where the Maracas Bay police is temporarily housed. While the boys were being questioned Anthony Sirju came to the station and  reported that his house at Damien Village had been broken into and a number of household items stolen. He was shown the contents of the bag which he identified as his. The youths were then charged. Cpl Boodoo laid the charges. In an unrelated matter, officers of the Maracas Bay police station issued 59 tickets for traffic violations around the seaside resort and promised to continue similar exercises every time there is a holiday.
