Ramirez, Jones win Newsday 5k
DENZEL RAMIREZ crossed the finish line first in the inaugural running of the 5k Fun Run, a new facet added to the Newsday Republic Day Cycling Classic at King George V Park, St Clair, on Republic Day, Friday last. He beat Kervin Persad into second with Deius Olivierre finishing third in the men open category. And Paula Jones beat Lee-Anne McMeo and Latasha Roach to capture the women open run. Over 200 runners/walkers registered for the Fun Run from which all proceeds will go toward Newsday’s “Save the Street Children Fund.”
