Presentation underline class in Central

PRESENTATION Chaguanas underlined their class in the Central Zone with a 5-2 hammering of Marabella in the British Gas Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) yesterday. The Presentation lads disregarded the damp conditions of their home ground to register their fifth straight victory of the season, with a double from Anthony O’Garro and one apiece from Jesse Stewart, Marvin Manswell and Reon Pegus. The prolific Akim Marshall converted two free-kicks for Marabella to take his tally for the season to 12.

Johann Marcano notched a hat-trick to guide Chaguanas to a 3-1 victory over the winless Union Claxton Bay at the Chaguanas Senior Ground, with Brian Constantine getting the consolation item for Claxton Bay. And Carapichaima were held to a 2-2 draw by Tabaquite at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva. “Blue Thunder” El Dorado cruised to a 5-1 victory over third-placed San Juan in an East Zone encounter at Bourg Mulatresse. Lionel St Hillaire netted a double for El Do, while James Brown, Keston Henry and Richard Radix chipped in with one each. Kadeem Gibbs was the lone scorer for the hosts. A 10th minute strike from Michael Hospedales gave “Dial Dynamos” a 1-0 triumph away to Valencia while St George’s pipped Hillview 1-0 courtesy of a Kevon Braithwaite goal. Three matches were postponed due to the inclement weather conditions —  the eagerly-awaited clash between the “Tigers” St Anthony’s and Mucurapo at the St Anthony’s Ground, QRC’s home match against Morvant/Laventille and the fixture between Barataria and “Green Machine” St Augustine at Barataria.
