UWI stage $100,000 half marathon

OVER $100,000 will be at stake when the University of the West Indies stage their inaugural international half-marathon on November 14. Already, Bahamian Olympic gold medallist Pauline Davis-Thompson have agreed to start the race at the UWI Sport and Physical Education Centre from 7 am. And a Kenyan, Murieki John Muriethi and Russian, Tatiana Titova along with Caribbean long distance king Pamenos Ballantyne and Trinidadian Ronnie Holassie have accepted invitations to be in the race.

Many other top international and Caribbean runners are expected to be at the starting line. The event will take runners on a course along the Priority Bus Route and return to the UWISPEC for the finish. Registration for the race begins this month at select Republic Bank branches, and space is limited.
