Baynes, Torry in TT team for world golf

TOP LOCAL players Carlos “Sexy” Baynes and Michelle Torry are among six national golfers who will participate in the 2004 World Amateur Team Championships, scheduled from October 15 to November 1 at the Palmas Del Mar Country Club, Puerto Rico. The TT men’s team will comprise of Baynes, Simon Merry and Dion Gonzalves, as well as captain Robert Costelloe, who will be vying for the Eisenhower Trophy.

The women’s unit of Michelle, sisters Diana and Tracey Clarke, with Penny Mendonca as the captain, will compete for the Espirito Santo Trophy. Both the men’s and women’s teams will participate in the info-format, where the top two scores per team per day being used over the four-day tournament.
