Federation to rule on spitting, goal spree

THE Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) will consider two matters which arose in the T&T Pro League and the National Super League respectively. The Pro League’s Disciplinary Committee is due to meet on Saturday to discuss the incident which arose during CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh’s 4-2 win over Starworld Strikers at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo last Sunday. In the 90th minute, Starworld’s goalkeeper Marvin Phillip was sent off for use of abusive language and spitting at referee Ramesh Ramdhan.

And the TTFF is expected to look at claims from members of both teams that Ramdhan allegedly retaliated at Phillip before issuing a red card to the 20-year-old. No decision has yet to be made concerning the Super League encounter between WASA Clean and White and L Sporto Crab Connection, which saw WASA prevailing by a 15-13 margin. Veteran administrator Harold Taylor was given a mandate by the TTFF to conduct an enquiry on the match and make recommendations to the Federation’s Executive Committee. According to an official in the Super League, Taylor, who holds the portfolio of secretary of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), held a meeting with officials of both teams on Monday and will subsequently submit his report to the TTFF.
