Presentation scent Central crown

PRESENTATION Chagua-nas can seal the Central Zonal title in the British Gas Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) today. The Presentation lads, who have won all their seven matches to date, will retain their crown with a win at home to Chaguanas Senior. Carapichaima are eight points behind Presen-tation, and they will have an easy task on their hands against the point-less Union Claxton Bay at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva while Marabella will host Tabaquite. The rampaging “Green Machine” St Augustine, the East Zone leaders, are virtually assured of full points away to the “Diamond Cutters” Valencia while second-placed San Juan will oppose St George’s at Bourg Mulatresse.

Defending champs, the “Dial Dynamos” Arima will face “Blue Thunder” El Dorado while struggling Barataria will host Hillview. Mucurapo can continue to stay ahead of the rest in the North Zone with victory against Malick at the Fatima Ground while second-placed St Anthony’s will face off against St Mary’s at the St Anthony’s Ground, Westmoo-rings. QRC will host fellow strugglers Tranquility while Mor-vant/Laventille will meet Fatima at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo. Reigning champs Naparima, Princes Town, St Benedict’s and Mayaro are all with a chance of lifting the South Zonal title.

In a double-header at Skinner Park, San Fernando from 3 pm, Naparima meet Fyzabad while Princes Town face off against St Benedict’s two hours later. Mayaro will host the combative Moruga outfit while the two cellar-placed teams, Pleasantville and Vessigny, will meet at Pleasantville. With Tobago Zone leaders Scarborough on a bye, defending champs Signal Hill can close the gap between themselves and Scarborough to two points with victory over Bishop’s at Shaw Park. And Roxborough will have a chance to increase their goal average when they host Elizabeth’s, the league’s whipping boys. With the exception of matches in Skinner Park, all matches kick off at 3.45 pm.
