Petrotrin lead close SFA race
PETROTRIN scored double victories in the Petrotrin-sponsored Southern Football Association Super League. But the race for the title is still too close to call, with Point Fortin Civic Centre hot on their heels. The “oilmen” drubbed Expediters Ste Madeleine 8-0 on Wednesday last with Ako James scoring three goals, Clint Tidd two and Marlon McLeod, Wendell Douglas and Darren Elvin one each. On Saturday, Petrotrin whipped Palo Seco 3-1, with James again starring with a double, while Colin Joseph got the other goal. Devon Clement got the consolation. The “Black City” men shut out Police 2-0 on Saturday with goals from Quincy Nichole and Masimba Hope and trail the league leaders by six points with two games in hand.
