Watch out for Lit D’Amour

LIT D’AMOUR seems to be a more settled individual since given a break from racing and could bounce back to make his presence felt in the near future. The Glenn Mendez inmate has shown rougish tendencies in some of his races after opening his account in impressive style first time of asking, but put all that aside to give an impressive display on the gallops course at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, yesterday morning. The grey three-year-old who races in the Dachin Racing Stable colours looked a picture of health and as he looked so he galloped, posting the excellent time of 48.23 seconds over the last 800 metres of the main course. Winner of an imported maiden event, Lit D’Amour  was sent in company with Carnival Messiah, whom he allowed a slight lead.

But he soon covered that advantage to join his stablemate at the corner and on straightening up, left the 2002 triple crown winner for dead. City Of Lights was another looking in good shape. The Emmanuel Miller claimer started at a brisk pace from the 1600 metres point and quickened in the backstretch to register 39.74 seconds over the final 600 metres of the course. Music Man has not done anything of note lately, but has been showing signs of improvement. The lightly raced colt from trainer Maniram “Boboy” Maharaj’s  barn who has been reformed since fitted with blinkers, stepped lively over the 600 metres in 39.73 seconds. Also showing good form were Paula’s First, Life In The Sky and Mister Hypocrit. Paula’s First drilled 800 metres in 51.99, seconds, only to see Life In The Sky do slightly better later on with a 51.32 timing. Mister Hypocrit enjoyed his solo run from the backstretch to the winning post in a handy 1:09.51 seconds for 1000 metres.
