Naparima edge into ‘Big 5’ final
TWO GOALS in the first half were enough for Naparima as they progressed to the British Gas Secondary Schools’ Football League (SSFL) Big 5 final. Naps got the better of Scarborough 2-1 at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella yesterday and will now face St Augustine in Saturday’s decider at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima.
Adisa Connell put the hosts ahead after six minutes, while Renato Ramlochan increased the lead in the 33rd courtesy of a left-footed volley. Scarborough looked a shadow of their dominant self, but they got on the scoresheet in the dying seconds through Trevaughn James, whose shot was spilled by Naps goalkeeper Leston Shade.
