Eastern Lions hope to end in style
THE “Eastern Lions” Joe Public will be looking to complete a fantastic 2004 National Super League campaign when they face surprise finalists Angostura 1976 FC Phoenix at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet, Tobago on Wednesday. At stake are the League’s knockout trophy and a jackpot of $15,000, with today’s loser guaranteed a purse of $10,000. Joe Public have captured the league title and will be going all out to halt the run of Phoenix, who eliminated the highly-rated L-Sporto Crab Connection in last week’s semi-final. Whatever happens today, Joe Public, Phoenix and the Crabs will join Police, M&M Harvard and Superstar Rangers as the six Super League outfits competing in the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) FA Cup. Kick-off time is 6 pm, with a Tobago League match between Stokelyvale and Bethel United taking place from 4 pm.
