$250 fine for littering

Appearing in the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court, Anthony Gaskin, 58, of Embacadere, apologised to Senior Magistrate Nanette Forde- John, and promised that he would never commit such an act again.

He was arrested on Sunday night at Mucurapo Street, San Fernando.

The charge was laid by Police Constable Luke Ramcharith. Gaskin pleaded guilty to the charge.

The court heard that Ramcharith was on patrol duty at about 9.20 pm when he saw Gaskin throw away the cup.

When confronted by the policeman, Gaskin responded, “Officer ah sorry. Give me a bligh.” Failure to pay the fine would result in Gaskin serving 14 days in prison.
