National pride floods stadium

Fans, of all ages, commuted to the stadium via different means to see the “Soca Warriors” in action in a crucial World Cup qualifier.

A family of five, who were so excited even after they were told they entered through the wrong entrance, were still covered in smiles as they favoured a 2-0 result for the hosts.

Fans were seen exiting maxi taxis and some drivers were seeking parking spots while many chose to make the trek to the stadium on foot.

Interacting with Newsday’s Nylo Interns, one die-hard fan stated, “Most of the fellas clicking and this team is better in terms of the quality and the way they play together. They not just kicking the ball away!” He went on to state his appreciation in terms of the ticket distribution via the Lotto booths, he however, expressed disappointment in the proactive marketing of the game.

A majority of fans expressed their satisfaction with the team as they consider the side to be in good shape heading into their final battle at home.

Others expressed disappointment to not see John Bostock, who didn’t get clearance for the game, but were still fully optimistic for a 3-1 win and were excited to see other players, such as Kevin Molino and Levi Garcia in the team.

The energy level within the national stadium was uptempo and a high “party vybz” was present despite the showers which fell before kick-off.
