Holly deserves the ORTT

He loved TT dearly, he promoted many aspects of our culture from his heart and with sincerity. He was a pioneer of local television and used the media to help launch the careers of many an entertainer, too numerous to mention.

When I noticed the absence of the name Holly Betaudier from the list of national awardees for the 2016 independence anniversary, I felt disappointed, for the late Holly was a true patriot and if ever there was a simple statesman, he was it.

I believe that his memory should have been honoured with the award of the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago for his passionate and relentless commitment and service to this nation.
