Habitat for Humanity’s AGM on Sept 27

Habitat TT’s Company Secretary, Barbara Lodge-Johnson, yesterday said the AGM would be held in the school’s Yara Auditorium, starting at 3 pm.

Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity has grown from a grassroots effort that began on a community farm in southern Georgia, USA in 1976 to a global non-profit housing organisation in nearly 1,400 communities across the US and in over 70 countries.

People partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home.

Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.

Since 1997, the local office has provided 416 housing solutions, trained thousands of persons in financial, technical and life skills, and served 2100 plus families and more than 6000 individuals through housing initiatives, financial training and disaster risk reduction programmes.
