Shiva dominated proceedings in the first half and showed great technical ability throughout.

Twenty-three minutes later, Shiva Boys’ Junior Asson doubled the advantage by slotting another past the Presentation custodian, Jabari Gray, to send their travelling fans into a frenzy.

However, ‘Pres’ struck back in the 35th minute after Jordan Riley successfully converted a penalty following a harsh tackle in the area.

Things never looked up for Presentation though as the game continued with Shiva dominating.

Into the second period, Presentation’s closest chance came in the 35th minute via another kick from the penalty spot. It was not to be though, as Shiva’s goalkeeper parried Riley’s shot over the bar to maintain their two-goal advantage.

In the end, Shiva Boys would hold on to their lead and walk away with three points after their opening clash.

Meanwhile, up to press time last night defending SSFL Premiership champions Naparima College were locked in heated contention against San Juan North. At the halftime break, the 2015 winners led 2-1.
