Guard shot dead, 3 injured

Vijay Maharaj, the security guard, died on the floor near the entrance of Cantonese Superstore, Eastern Main Road, Maturita, Arima, when bandits struck at about 8.15 pm.

A customer, the cashier and porter were injured. Their condition were unknown as they were taken for medical attention.

A Northern Division Crime Patrol Unit responded to the report, along with a party of officers from the Arima Police Station, however the gunmen remained on the run.

Four killings between Friday and yesterday took the murders to 321.
