While there is much information available to help make our lives easier, accessing that information can also prove to be challenging.

Pertinent questions such as, where to go liming? or, how to find a good eating place or even where to locate a beautician for that long-term or emergency fix? can send us on a time-consuming chase. The contact information is not always readily at hand to access some service providers.

But, worry no more.

Here’s Your Technology (HYT) Solutions Ltd is putting some choices at your fingertips to help you beat the stress. The company has developed three service-oriented applications for mobile phones that are geared to making everyday life easier.

Founder and CEO of HYT, Dayne E Thompson said the company is using innovative technology to assist people on the go.

“The goal is to use innovative technology to help people enjoy life and make life easier. The reason being that our lives are becoming so mobile- oriented that we do everything on the go, so it would be easier if we have our virtual life on the go as well,” Thompson said.

One of the mobile apps called Flawless, he says, is for women. “It is a beautician app for females, which shows all the beauticians in country with location, contact numbers and pictures of their past work. With a touch on each relevant information the associated app would open. For example, touching the phone number would open the phone app, the location would open ‘Google Maps’ or ‘Waze’.” Thompson added that all women have to do is open Flawless and the section for the beautician type they are looking for (make-up, nail tech, and so on) and search for one in their area. He said HYT has also incorporated daily beauty tips, “do-it-yourself ” videos and a lot more.

The We Cuisine application is geared to exposing the culinary culture of Trinidad and Tobago.

“It shows all the restaurants in TT and allows users to view their full menu, prices, location, contact numbers and even pictures of the plated food. All features work just as the Flawless app. We also have an additional feature with this where we also deliver the food for you if you don’t wish to dine out,” he said However, We Pumpin’ is being touted as HYT’s marquee app.

Though it was originally launched in January, it has been developed to increase Trinidad’s social life.

“It displays all parties, sports, outdoors activities, boat cruises, fetes and more every day of the year.

It shows the artwork associated with each event, promotional dialogue, pictures, locations, cost, contact and more. We also incorporated our own music section, where we have all our local music for you to listen to, videos of local parties and more.

“Our best feature is our live streaming option.

This allows users to view a live stream of how ‘Pumpin’ inside a club or party or event is so they can make a more informed decision on when and where they want to spend their night out.” An example of the feed can be seen at: https:// www.youtube.com/ watch?v=6xIlbxkm1Uo All applications are available for iOS and Android devices and are free for any user to download.

While Thompson develops the applications and runs the daily functions of the business, he has Rhea Mc Comie taking care of marketing duties.

The business was founded in January 2015 after he learned to develop the mobile applications.

“I was always into IT in various fields and the development of mobile applications interested me a lot.

After gaining the knowledge in the same, I decided to use it to help improve the daily lives of our citizens, such as exposing our culture and social life, making it easier and safer for people to go out, to allow people to have a larger choice and variation for food, travel safer and more.

The idea is to use technology to make every task for users easier and safer.” Another app, We Taxi is being developed.

This is for drivers to deliver the food to users.

Thompson said there is also a section for local recipes, both video and written that was launched back in January.

He said the feedback has been good for the We Pumping and We Cuisine apps with both receiving 3,000 downloads each since being launched.

Reviews on the Play Store as well Facebook have also been good, he said.

Told of the annual WeBeat Festival and the similarities between the names of the events and their apps Thompson confessed: “Honestly I never heard of the WeBeat from St James. But if any thing I would look to work with them to see how we can collaborate on something.” For more info: www.hytsolutions.
