D’Abadie man succumbs to injuries after robbery

According to reports, Nigel Badoo, 36, was at Lopinot Junction at about 8.45 am on Thursday when he was accosted by someone who proceeded to rob and beat him.

Badoo was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex by passers-by, but officers were not able to interview and record a statement from him due to the severity of his injuries which left him in a semi-conscious state when he was brought to the hospital.

Police reported that at about 1.30 pm yesterday, Badoo succumbed to his injuries. His body was removed from the EW MSC and taken to the Forensic Science Centre in St James where an autopsy is expected to be done on Monday. Police sources said that investigators are gathering CCTV footage to assist them in identifying the killer. Homicide Investigations Bureau officers are continuing enquiries.
