Barren Internet oasis

This issue has been raised before, directly with the HDC and via the print media, to no avail. As far as I recall the last letter had requested the HDC to at least inform residents of the status of the installation of Internet service in the development, but alas this simple courtesy has not come to pass.

A development that can house more than 1,000 families is being left behind. School has started and for another year children are being deprived of a utility that should be as common as water and lights.

Residents do not wish to resort to any protest action, but this simple necessity is having a disturbing impact on our daily lives. Once again I am pleading with HDC Managing Director (Ag) Brent Lyons and his team to listen attentively to the concerns of residents.

If it is that the HDC intends to modernise the housing schemes it offers to the population, then the infrastructure for essential services/amenities should be readily available when the keys are presented for the houses.

I and other residents hope the HDC promptly addresses this overbearing issue.
