Power of the Guitar returns

Francesco Emmanuel will open the event on October 1 at 8.30 pm.

Cesco as he is often called has been playing the guitar from the young age of 13 and has been a student at the Graham Newling Guitar School where he is currently pursuing his advanced studies (Licentiate) with the associated Board of The Royal Schools of Music, London. A founding member of the Toronto-based band Kobo Town, Cesco was also a member of the local band The Sonic Revival Project. His latest work can be heard in the local film, A Story About Wendy.

Theron Shaw takes the stage on October 8 at 8.30 pm. Shaw is a gifted guitarist, composer and arranger who graduated from Howard University in 1995 with a degree in music therapy. He has performed with many international acts including French vocalist Philippe Lavil, Cuban pianist Ernan Lopez-Nussa and Barbadian saxophonist Arturo Tappin. Shaw is will delight the audience with his cool Caribbean jazz for which he has become internationally famous, said a media release from MovieTowne Stefan Roach is an accomplished guitarist having obtained a grade eight, the final grade in the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music (ABRSM) exams and subsequently attaining a Diploma in Performance Guitar.

Roach specialises in classical and flamenco guitar and recently accompanied the dancers from the Quindale Productions of Barcelona, Spain.

He will perform on October 15.

Dean Williams graduated from the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT ) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Western music and classical music. Williams is no stranger to the Fiesta Plaza stage having recently introduced patrons to his original music, “A Woman’s Sweetness” and “Li Jwe Gita”. He has performed and toured with Machel Montano and Destra Gaarcia and has also performed with Wyclef Jean and Sean Paul. Williams will take the stage on October 22.

Michael Chang Wai ends the series for the fourth year straight with his own indomitable style as he changes his everyday quiet persona to a raging rock super star reminiscent of Jimmi Hendrix and Cliff Richards. Chang Wai came out of the defunct Divine Echoes Band.
