It would really be suing China
China has been developing a relationship with TT and the wider Caribbean and some Chinese contractors have been awarded contracts by TT governments in recent times, and loans were provided on preferential terms (eg NAPA north and south).
In a meeting some 17 years ago with a past Chinese ambassador to discuss the selection of Chinese contractors for major projects in TT , it was made clear such contractors were State companies and the ambassador could not show favouritism in designating a contractor because there were several competent contractors in China.
It follows that suing a Chinese contractor amounts to suing the State of China.
Which politician is prepared to so act?
