Persad-Bissessar also said Rowley must indicate whether or not he was briefed by Carmona about the proposed meeting between the President and National Security Minister Edmund Dillon and whether it was sanctioned by the PM.

She said if Rowley did approve this meeting, why then the justification for him seeking legal advice on the constitutionality of said meeting. She questioned the selection of Martin Daly SC to provide legal opinion to the PM, did Daly hold prior consultation with Rowley on the matter, how much did his professional services cost taxpayers and how did his confidential advice, also find its way into the media? She claimed this issue arose at a time when Rowley’s standing on matters such as FATCA legislation have been called into question.

She said Rowley, “must immediately address this potentially scandalous issue.”
